Monday's Beauty Bits

Here's hoping I've found another Beauty in a Pill. This time it's zinc supplements. Reviews online are incredibly positive. Many users report a reduction in acne and in oil-production with regular intake. So I've just bought a bottle and will be experimenting on myself. I'll let you girls know when something happens one way or another. Oh and if you're game to try, do Google and read up a bit. Don't ingest more than 50mg a day (bear in mind other supplements you're taking). Don't take it at the same time as other supplements because it inhibits copper absorbtion. And take it on a full stomach or run the risk of indigestion. Has anyone else tried this?

Until I saw this post by ParisB I had no idea that Badger Balms were available in Malaysia! Check out this site for dealers that may carry it.

Burts Bees has a lipbalm with no beeswax? What the - and here I thought they put the stuff in everything. Vegans and bee-sensitives rejoice!

I've also replaced my regular Cellnique Pro Sebum serum with good 'ol Galderma's Benzac 5%. It's a Benzoyl Peroxide gel suspension that I used to use in the bad old days. Lately my skin's been so shite I went back to it and am pretty happy. It's cleared up my acne and dried out my skin. For some girls thats bad. For me.. it means 5 less blotters a day. Awesome. Will do a full review in a couple more weeks.

Are zinc supplements safe for pregnant women or those who are trying to conceive?

Anon: I can't give medical advice dear. Please ask your doctor or gyne?

I've tried taking zinc supplements before. I can't really say it did me any good after a whole bottle, but then it was quite a while ago so I can't really remember. However, what I do remember is getting dizzy and nauseated every time I drink the supplements. Must be a side effect for me, I suppose. :)

I should have picked up some BP with you the other day. My acne is flaring up again and I am at a loss at what to do. *groan*

Gingerbee: Did you take them on an empty stomach?

Eli: Ouch! Check out the pharmacies there? As the pharmacist if they have it or anything that'll help.
