Loving: St Ives Fresh Skin Makeup Remover & Facial Cleanser with Chamomile

Once again, I was doing my usual prowl at the drugstore when the cleanser-fairy sprinkled some fairy dust on me, and suddenly I had to buy a cleanser.

Not buying it? Alright, not really.

But spotting an old old flame on the shelves... I had no choice but to bring it home. And the St Ives yada yada bla bla Facial Cleanser with Chamomile... we really go a loooong way back.

All the way back into my teens actually. Lovelies, THIS was the FIRST cleanser I had ever purchased with my own hard-earned pocket money way back when I was what, 15? It was also the first product I had ever tried from St Ives.

A wonderful, creamy and mild, chamomile cleanser in a light blue tube (anybody recalls this?). And I remember I had loved it. But it disappeared from the shelves soon after, and so my love affair was uhh.. short-lived.

Fast forward over a decade, and of course, packaging and all's different now. But it feels like the same creamy cleanser of my yesteryears. In fact, I think it's gone even creamier now.

Texture is très creamy. In fact, I'd say it's the creamiest of all creamy cleansers I've tried of late. Take my word for it, I love cream cleansers. If you hate applying cream to your face, avoid this like the plague.

It's thick and it works like magic at removing my mild everyday makeup. My skin feels clean and soft, and with another round of Cetaphil, I'm good for bed.

I honestly wouldn't know how well it works at removing super-glue foundations and mascaras though, I've rarely ventured into that region of makeup application. Sorry.

Scent-wise, it has a nice mild fragrance, but you may not want to my word on this. I highly advise you to take a sniff before purchasing.

For a huge 170g tube, the normal price I believe is about RM21-ish, but I've seen going for as low as RM15-ish during promotions.

For such a decent price, this cleanser is just simple awesome, in my opinion. My long lost love has returned. And I sure hope it stays on a while longer this time.

Love!

You know, I bought this as cleanser to have in my guest bathroom, but I've never tried it myself. I guess I'll have to give it a try!

I sooooo love this cleanser for the same reasons too! Soft and creamy, super gentle, and great for getting everyday non-waterproof makeup off my face. I do find that I need to follow up with a microfibre face cloth afterwards though to wipe my face as I find it doesn't remove all traces of foundation. Before I use this cleanser, I use L'Oreal remover on my eyes first to remove the waterproof mascara I use daily to keep the curl.

BTW if you love this, you will adore the new St Ives Daily Microdermabrasion. Sounds harsh but I found this gentle enough to use everyday.

what do u think between this and Olay cream cleanser?

Mandy: Looks like you should! =P

Julie: Ooh. Thanks for the suggestion, although I don't know whether we have that in Malaysia. I'm also using the apricot scrub though, and that gives me plenty of exfoliation. =)

Syn: Hmm.. good question. Thing is, I have both. LOL. Well, this is creamier than Olay. But Olay works better overall because it's got micro beads, and I like that it cleans and scrubs at the same time. Olay might work better for more people as this one might be a tad heavy for some. Uhh.. did I answer your question?

Although this is a decent cleanser, I find it a bit eeky...like goopy glue I used to use in a small tub for art and craft lessons in school...

:P

it's a bit sticky and slimy for some purposes were in it makes the applied area shiny and neat after the process.
