Relief in a tube: Esmeria Organics Prickly Pear SOS Rescue Cream

I've had this tube forever and have been using it on scrapes and burns since I got to Hong Kong. It was given to me by Miss Soo the lovely MD of Esmeria Organics before I left as part of a farewell care package and boy has it been handy.

But the miraculous side of it... the part that has me RUNNING online to post a review of it in my lunch break, is how it stops Mozzie bites from itching like nothing else will.

I don't know why the mozzies here in HK find me so delectable but they can't stay away. And while I've gotten inured to the Malaysian variety the ones here.... itch. As in wake up in the dead of the night scratching frantically and whimpering in misery itch. In case my point isn't clear yet, that's REALLY REALLY ITCHY. It's so bad I was deliberately scratching holes in my leg so that it would please just stop.

I've tried Mopiko. I've tried Mopiko Extra. I've tried Zambug, vaseline, vinegar and deep heet rub and nothing worked. Nothing gives any relief.

WHY I didn't think to try this I'll never know. But one day in desperation I did and the relief was.. while not completely instant - marked and palpable. A few days of using this twice a day and the mozzie bites were innocuous little red dots.

Maybe it's the tea tree oil (which it smells of), the prickly pear or the lovely mentholated tingling sensation it gives, but it works. Done, am happy!
After two years of dabbing though my tube is at an end. So I'm swinging by the online store to pick up more. For RM25.90 why not? I may even try it on pimples next.

PS. I tried. But they only ship within Malaysia. *sobs*

Hey girl, you should try out Badger Balm Anti Bug Balm. It repels the pesky mozzies and its organic.

Maybe I'm extra delicious to mosquitos, but the Badger Anti Bug Balm didn't work to keep them away from me, sadly.

Wish Esmeria were available here :)
