(UPDATED) Review: Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait

From the moment I read about the Revlon Lip Butters online, I've been wanting them. Bad.

And dear Kahani was kind enough to help me haul four shades back from Hong Kong when she was back over the Chinese New Year holidays. No prizes for guessing which of the four I've been playing with the most.

Lovelies, meet Peach Parfait.

A frosted peachy shade, this is definitely for the ladies who love sheer lipsticks. Otherwise, skip this one. Whilst I don't have a problem with my lips drying out on me (I wear lipbalm with all my lipsticks), it's sadly not as buttery or balmy as I expected. I mean, with a name like "Lip Butter", I really did expect it to be more like buttah.

However, applied, they do give my lips a rather moist look which I'm quite happy with.

Of the four shades I bought, Peach Parfait is the sheerest of the lot, but it does add a nice touch of colour to my lips. The other three - Sugar Plum, Red Velvet and Cherry Tart - fare much better in the pigment department.

The Revlon Lip Butters cost me HKD98 (RM38) each. Unfortunately, they've not yet arrived on our Malaysian shores as of press time. They are now available in Malaysia! Not the entire range, however. Only 8 eight shades - Peach Parfait, Cherry Tart, Fig Jam, Brown Sugar, Strawberry Shortcake, Macaroon, Lollipop and Sugar Plum.

I picked up Macaroon from Guardian, Mid Valley (at RM24.90), which according to Karla Sugar is a UK exclusive shade. Yay!

On the whole, while I wish it was just a tad more balmy and buttery, but it's still a very pretty lipstick. Have you tried the Lip Butters?

  1. Hi Syen :)

They're available here in Singapore, retailing at SGD 15.90 a pop :) I swatched them all recently, and they are pretty as, but none of them called out to me :( I guess I'm more partial to Clinique's Almost Lipsticks.

  2. Nice to know they are available there, I do like their pigmented lip butters though, I don't know why but I don't look that much good on "sheer ones" :D

  3. ksuan: Oooh! Nice to know they're available in Sg. Thanks for the headsup. And the price is pretty much the same as it is in HK. Now if only they'd get to KL already. Sigh.

Nikki: I think the others I have will perform better than Peach Parfait, I think.

  4. Revlon Lip Butters have been released in Malaysia as of 2/2/2012. It is RM28.90 per tube. But they really have a limited shade range, probably only 8 shades at the most.

  6. I just got one today (just one for now!) Cherry Tart - i absolutely love it both colour and formula wise. It is a very pigmented shade on me; a red that i dont mind wearing everyday. i generally prefer matte lipsticks to slight gloss so this texture was perfect. RM25 in Watsons.

Kahani: Yeah.. quite a big diff, actually. But no worries. No regrets for getting it a little sooner. Although I do wish we had more than those 8 shades only. Boo.

    Rainy Days: It is. =)

Wai Yee: Glad you love it!
