Monday's Beauty Bits

Kiehl's has a store in 1Utama, LG, New Wing as of Nov 11! And their limited edition Pear range is in, including the LE pear-flavoured version of their classic SPF15 lip balm. One tube for RM32, and if you buy 2 you get 1 free. I'm so tempted despite Syen's rather lukewarm review.

If you're interested in giving Biotin a whirl, for the sake of your hair or nails. But can't find a decent source in Malaysia. GNC is selling 120, 600mcg, pills for RM44. Note that Biotin should not be taken without multivites, and that 600mcg is twice the daily recommended allowance (RDA). So, do what I do, and break the pill in half. ; )

There's a review on MUA about Starbucks Napkins being excellent blotters. And they are! I nipped one to test. Not as oil-sucking as C&C's magic blue sheets, but not everyone likes oil blotters to be quite so efficient. And as one napkin is large, you can tear it up into smaller bits to use (When desperate, or when you have no money). PJ from A Touch of Blusher also swears by them.

Girls who can't seem to make evening primrose oil work for them, should not give up. If you can, keep experimenting with the dosage until you find what works for you. Everyone's different. It's taken me years to figure out that I take one 1000mcg tablet on alternate days 3 weeks of the month, and one daily during that particular week. So far it's helped with the monthly breakouts and minimised PMS. Well worth the trouble!

If you're getting into a makeup rut, maybe the genius makeup tutorials by Xenia of Lime Crime (Doe Deere Blogazine) will shake you out of it. Her approach to makeup is wild, funky, fantastical and breaks all the rules. Yet, she makes it look beautiful - in an unearthly, Tim Burtonish way.

And not totally beauty-related, my RooTotes just arrived! Whee! I ordered Capital and Berry and could not be happier. I've already transfered all my stuff into Capital which looks sturdy enough (I see why it costs more) to be an everyday bag (journalists get to be a little more casual). I had it sent to my office as it's by courier, and now my colleagues are terribly excited and coveting bags of their own.

Tine: Oh it's spreading... it's spreading! And they're ordering in 15 new designs in December! My poor pocket.
