Monday's Beauty Bits & Bridal Emergency Kit

The one thing I've never liked about Coastal Scents is their outrageous shipping. Thank goodness for the wonderful Nikki who's discovered an alternate source for their Gel Liners. Makeup Masala not only offers international free shipping if you spend US$20, they carry NYX and Ecotools! Plus, get a free gift when you enter the voucher code on Nikki's site.

In case you haven't noticed, I've added a section for vouchers and coupons on the left sidebar. I realised I had quite a few going so they deserved their own little box. ^_^

Now for the bridal emergency kit. I'm maid of honour for one of my best friends this Saturday and she sent me this list of just-in-case items. It's staggeringly long! The full list is after the jump. Obviously somethings we can do without, any ideas what we should add though?

Bridal Emergency Kit

Sewing Kit, including safety pins and small scissors
Clear nail polish (helpful for stocking runs)
Sticky tape or Hollywood tape
Perfume (if you are wearing any and needs top-up)
Nail file
Nail polish in the bride's shade
Makeup (Oil blot paper, lipstick, powder, eyeliner, mascara, etc)
Cotton Bud - I found this good to rectify running eye makeup
Eye makeup remover
Makeup Remover
Suntan lotion
Straws (for drinking without messing up lipstick)
Extra stockings
Hairspray
Brush and comb
Bobbypins and hair elastics
Hairdryer
Static-cling spray
Tissues
Lint brush
Earring backs
Baby powder (also useful for getting out last-minute spills on a white dress)
Eye-drops (look for redness reducing)
Contact lens solution
Antacid
Mints
Tampons and pads
Panadol
Band-Aids
Biscuits for snacks - you will get hungry... this always gets eaten by
someone in the bridal party
Bottled Drinking Water
Hand Mirror
Moist Towlettes
List of Vendor Telephone Numbers

Good extras: charged cell phone, camera for taking getting dressed
candids, wristwatch.

:) Happy Monday!!!

How about adding up Powder to your already long list? hehehe the reason why I said so, because on my wedding day, my dress fell to this really dirty gutter, and the coordinator told me she forgot her baby powder you can easily pat the baby powder to the dirty (WHITE) dress to conceal the dirt!!!

That is a long list..really! hahaha :)

Good grieves, that's a LOOONG list! =P

Kahani: Good that you're going through this maid-of-honour thingy with MW. Should be well-experienced by Aug. *tee hee*

Syen: Not to mention if I end up doing Val's makeup as well. Maybe after that I should just consider weddings an alternate source of income. ;)

Nikki: LOL! Yes baby powder it is then. =)

Jenn: Sewing kit has safety pins! =D

Petra: Woman it's a wedding, not a war!

I agree with Petra - do add nail polish remover to the list as well. Not so much for nails but for any of the diamante that fall off the jewelry provided with the bridal studio (in case the bride is wearing them).

Also to add to the list - band aids and sole/heel padding for shoes. I made the mistake of not breaking in my new heels to be worn for the wedding reception that it was really killing my feet. Thank God my bridesmaids brought some, and they (including Bee) had to tape up my feet just so I can walk in them. Thank goodness my dress covered my feet too, or else people would be able to see my unsightly feet :p

Bring food, especially bananas. The bride will not have any time to eat, and the bananas are a great source of energy. Just don't let her eat it when the cameras are on her. It was like a bloody p0rn movie when I was caught on video being fed a banana by my husband (eeeeps!)

Also bring an extra set of false eyelashes (and the glue, very important) just in case, halfway during the event, the falsies start to fall off.

Bring cellophane tape. You never know what you might need it for.

Ok, I'm sorry petra. ; )

And thanks for the tips Tine, I can hear the wisdom in your voice of experience. I hark, and I heed! =P

I laugh every time I hear "falsies" now cos in the USA it means false BREASTS (i.e. padding). Led to some confusion when my friend in Aus updated her Facebook status to "...'s 80 year old neighbour is helping her put on falsies."
