Review: Silkygirl Precision Liquid Eyeliner (Waterproof)

I confess to harbouring a foolish hope that this budget eyeliner would prove the equal of Revlon Colourstay Liquid Eyeliner at half the price. Well, sorry ladies but no dice. The formula while very black is not remotely waterproof, doesn't smudge out smoothly and won't last the day without giving you panda eyes. However this eyeliner is not without plus points.

Applicator
Inferior formula or no, I find myself liking this applicator far more than Revlon's! Both are felt tips and make for very precise lining but as several have observed, Revlon's is so hard it hurts. It also lays down a very harsh line.

Silkygirl's applicator is much softer and lays down a lovely clean but not-as-hard line that you can control by exerting more or less pressure. More pressure with Revlon's applicator would be very painful!

As the container's shape looks identical, I believe that in future I may buy Revlon Colorstay and switch applicators. Best of both worlds!

Conclusion
At RM15.90 I'm not out by very much - and like I said it's not a total loss. I'll try to use up the liner for lighter days and keep and eagle eye out for smudges.

I like it when liquid liners have soft applicator!

Jenn: Yeah everytime I laugh till I tear up I get smudges. *giggles* But on the plus side I'm not upset in the least about the liner.

Nikki: And this is soft and felt tip so I'm really loving it.

hey kahani
any ideas about maybelline's eyestudio?
tried it before?
yay or nay?

Hi Lynn, Are you talking about Maybelline eyestudio's gel eyeliner? I bought it in brown and am still reviewing it. So far though I like it. I think that with this on the market I won't have to order from coastal scents and I'm not remotely tempted by the more expensive liners - especially since they dry up so fast! I am a little in love with black liquid eyeliner at present, so I'm unsure if I will get it in black.

hehe i like their gel liners.
but i was talking about the liquid one.
my gel liner dried up already and its difficult to get my kohl one to appear on top of my shadows.
so i need to find a good liquid one

hmmm.. strangely enough this is one of the best liners I've used to date. I stumbled upon ur blog googling it simply because I found it so fabulous! Maybe it depends on skin type but this is the only liner I've used tht stays on ALL day at work, shopping and even some extra-curricular activities. Just goes to show- different stroke for different folks!

cheers!
