Monday's Beauty Bits

Desperation can be the mother of discovery. When my poor visiting Norwegian friend was eaten alive by our local mozzies I was horrified at just how big the bites swelled on him. Not having mopiko or zambug on hand, I pulled out he only tingly thing I did have - Origins Peace of Mind (thanks Beetrice!). Would you believe, after 3 mins the itching had faded and the swelling was down? Amazing! It's pricey for this use but if you're going mad from a mozzie bite you may find this tip handy.

I'm sure all you ladies know by now that the Burts Bees store is open at The Curve. At present they only have full sized items but in another few weeks the store manager believes that they'll be bringing in the travel sized items. So if you're keen to try but not looking to invest in huge bottles be a wee bitty patient and the smaller ones will come your way.

Now I'm going to wimp out because it's too freaking hot to THINK. So no more beauty tips from me. However I do have a question for your ladies. I'm starting to think of joining a gym so I'd like to ask the ladies who go regularly... What do you keep in your gym bag? Please share, I'd love ideas.

Oh, that's a great tip! And the Peace of Mind bottle is tiny enough to fit in our purses and so easy to whip out...

Now the gym bag necessities...let's see, apart from vthe boring things that have no place in a beauty blog, I always carry dry shampoo (Klorane) in case I don't have the time to wash my hair and some kind of 2in1 body wash/shampoo. Previous contenders have ranged from Johnson's baby top to toe, to the L'Occitane, to 100% pure....oh and speaking of 100% pure, this reminded me of you :)

When I used to be with a gym (fell off the bandwagon too many times and never got back on) I always made sure to have a waterproof bag with my shower necessities in there. Also, make sure you have a couple of plastic bags or ziploc bags or something to contain your used clothing else they can really stink! :P

p/s I used the Origins thing for the 1st time a few days ago coz i had a headache - i think i used too much coz my head felt like it was going to freeze up - normal?

A friend did once comment that the Origins Peace of Mind scent reminded her of that saviour of mozzie bites -- Tiger Balm.

Peace of Mind can be pretty strong. Just put enough to lubricate and massage the pressure points. It does work (I've a mini aromatherapy and flower essence kit that I tote around, thanks to friend who's now training people how to stay alive when they are kidnapped in Darfur :D)
