From the start I had mixed feelings about this sunscreen. Hope that it would finally be THE ONE - the high SPF sunscreen I could use without breaking out. But also dread that I would have to fork out RM140 for 30ml to replace it
Alas it seems that this sunscreen was not to be the one. It seemed like it at first though. It was light (when a wee bit is used), fragranceless and hydrating enough that I could skip using my usual Clinique DDMG.
I used a tiny smidgen without moisturiser on my chin for three days and no breakouts or excessive oiliness. So I started using it all over my face.
After two weeks though whiteheads started appearing. I stopped using the sunscreen for two days and with exfoliation they went away. I started again, and they came back.
Now, usually you don't get away with using a whitehead-causing product for 2 weeks with impunity and I'm no exception. Even though I've stopped using it for a week now, cystic acne has started surfacing as my skin purges. I haven't tried any new skincare or foundation product in all this time, so I'm afraid I have only this sunscreen to blame.
Now, bear in mind that my skin hates so many things that it really is breakout prone and hypersensitive. I also have never been able to use any of the sunscreens others swear by. So it seems I'm doomed to be old and wrinkly. *wails*
So for a more thorough perspective, please check out reviews by ParisB and Connie.
Obviously I won't be repurchasing and I may end up passing this on. Although I am tempted to keep it handy for single-day use when I know I'll be out in the sun a lot and a breakout is better than long-term skin damage. It's an awful choice to make though, isn't it?

Hey kahani, it's me li shan. yeah i have hypersensitive skin that reacts to practically everything too, so i know how you feel. btw, was really surprised kahani was you, i've been reading paris n connie's blog before i found yous and congrats, i never knew u could write so well as we've only spoken in real life =P
Hi Kahani! What a shame that this sunblock didn't work for you - and I had heard such great things about Kiehl's. As a fellow sensitive skinned girl, I completely sympathize with your plight. I finally found a sunblock that works for me though, from Clinique! Have you checked their sunscreens out? I just reviewed it on my blog - which was incidentally inspired by So Loverly. :)
Many Kiehl's products don't seem to work on me too :-( Have you tried Sunplay Skin Aqua series? Think they have three different sunscreens available now. I am using the new UV Mild Milk and am really liking it. So far no breakouts.
Yikes, that's horrible, hope your skin gets back to normal soon! Sunscreens are such tricky things, aren't they? It's like playing Russian roulette with them often...
I have to be super careful about sunscreens because I'm severely allergic to the 2 dreaded benzophenones in chemical sunscreens - the avo and oxy twins - so no YSL rouge volupte or the Elizabeth Arden 8 hr lip balm or the Neutrogena helioplex sunscreen for me, so I totally understand when a product that seems to have such promise to the rest of the world is a horrible let-down to me...
Hi Li Shan, thanks for the kind words, but umm.. if you do know me in real life you haven't been reading the papers I write for. ;)
ksuan: Congrats on the blog and thanks for being so sweet. Hear that Syen & Eli, we're inspirational!
Thanks for the suggestions ladies, sadly I have tried Clinique, Sunplay, Eucerin, The Body Shop and ~H2O+ sunscreens (or moisturisers with sunscreen). Breakout city. =(
However, I live in hope!
Btw, Ksuan, Just checked it out and great blog! Am adding it to the blogroll =)
Hello hello! Have you tried Clinelle from Guardian? I'm currently using the tinted sunscreen and I can't remember the price, but I remember that it was affordable and well worth the money. Good luck!
And thank you for adding ksuan & my blog on the blogroll : ). We're cowriters for the blog
this one expensive lor... :(
Didn't work for my sensitive, acne-prone skin suffering from mild rosacea! Actually caused a breakout. Try VMV Hypoallergenics Armada line. That worked for me.
