Review: Biore UV Aqua Rich SPF 30 PA+++

In our continuous search for a fantastic sunscreen, I'm quite happy to report that I've recently come across a sunscreen that I'm really quite in love with.

Ladies, let me introduce you to Biore UV Aqua Rich SPF 30 PA+++.

I had picked this up while I was in Bangkok last year, just out of curiosity. And then I realised I liked it. A lot. Uh-oh.

Fortunately, to my greatest delight, it's also now available in Malaysia! Yay! Not one to take chances, I picked up another bottle up as back-up the moment I spotted it.

If you look closely, you'll notice the words "watery jelly" on the bottle itself, and that is pretty much how I'd describe the texture of this sunscreen. It's a little watery, and yet gel-like, at the same time. I love how fast it sinks into the skin after application.

I also find it to be a pretty decent makeup base. My morning routine now consists of me slapping on this gel as a moisturiser, and then the Biore UV Aqua Rich for sunscreen. Makeup goes on after this step, and I'm quite happy with how my makeup sits on it.

There isn't much of a scent if you ask me, even if they claim it has "mix citrus essence". But then you may not want to trust my nose.

Active ingredients are:
1. Ethyhexyl methoxycinnamate - UVB filter
2. Diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate - UVA filter

I'm guessing this sunscreen must be working. Living in Malaysia, it's hard to avoid the sun, but I don't notice getting any tanner than usual.

The best bit, however, has to be the fact that this doesn't break me out. (My skin hasn't been at its best of late, but I believe that has to be attributed elsewhere.)

My skin has been both dry and oily of late (if it makes any sense to you), and this seems to work rather well for me. It does seem to keep my skin happy, without making me oilier than usual. Score!

And oh, I also like the fact that it washes off easily from my hands, unlike those waterproof suncreens. Bah!

It's priced at about RM32 for 90ml, which is pretty decent if you ask me. 90ml is quite a lot of product, as these sunscreens are usually packaged at 50ml.

In conclusion, it works well for me and it's affordable. It's pretty much love for me.

Have you tried this?

I bought this but didn't use it on my face. I use it on my neck and arms but it may have caused my neck to break out. I suddenly have a spate of unsightly rashes :-(

not sure why, but i do feel this feels a bit "oilier" compared to the mousse one.

and no white cast!

lyn: Uh-oh. So sorry it didn't work out for you. Another one of those "one man's meat..." case. Boo.

plue: Oh yes, and no white cast! Actually, I also picked up a tube of the mousse version, but I haven't opened it because I'm trying to finish up this bottle first!
