Organic de-puffer: Esmeria's Eye Gels

I was sent these two tubes for review nearly a year ago, but have held off reviewing them since I found them a little too dry in winter. Now summer's hit though these lightweight gels are perfect!

I've been using Esmeria Organics Ultimate 5-Effect Eye Gel for All Skin Types for day and their Ultimate 5-Repair Eye Gel for mature skin at nights as I find it the more emollient of the two. As the days get steadily more humid however I will probably just stick to the 5-Effect Eye Gel.

Both these gels are clear, light and runny and have a pleasant floral scent. 5-Effect is more of a floral blend while 5-Repair is distinctly rosy. 

Review: Clinique All About Eyes Eye Cream

Hong Kong's dryer climate and probably my advancing years have convinced me that I need a better eye cream than the super light Natio cream I was using. 

Thing is I am really nervous about new eye creams. They're often pricey and do nothing, or too heavy and cause breakouts and give me milia. So when I spotted this gel-creme trial size (7ml) for HKD65, I thought, what the hey and gave it a try. 

Two weeks later and I've already ordered two more of these mini jars off Strawberrynet at HKD90 for both. What's so good about it? 

Well, first off it probably doesn't do much for dark undereye circles but boy does it work for puffiness. I'd noticed my eye bags were starting to show (not usually a problem for me) but the morning after I patted this on at night, I woke up brighter, fresher eye-bag less eyes - probably thanks to the caffeine in it. 

Review: Garnier Caffeine Eye Roll-On

I know that this product came out yonks ago but seeing how I just picked it up 2 months ago and it has yet to be reviewed... Why not?

Formalities first: the magic ingredient is caffeine (great for eyebags, they say) and the major selling point for this product is metal rolling ball applicator. No need for fingers, just roll away!

While the applicator had me going "ooh" and giggling with fascinated glee at first, the novelty wore off after a few days and I started focusing on the actual product itself.

Would you consider LASIK?

It's Fab Fridays again. What have you got lined up for your weekend?

Anyways, on to the topic at hand. Of late I've found myself toying with the idea of getting LASIK. For the uninitiated, it's short for "laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis."

It's basically a simple surgery procedure using laser to correct problems such as short-sightedness and long-sightedness.

For one such as myself who's been a four-eyed kid since I was 10, the idea of never having to wear glasses is awfully tempting.

If all goes well, it'd mean no more fumbling by the bedside table in the mornings for my glasses and no more repeated blinkings at the end a long and tiring day from wearing contact lenses. Some people might have no issues with contact lenses, but my eyes get very very exhausted if I wear them for too long.

(Of course, vanity could be a factor too. Just a wee teeny weeny bit.)

I know of a few friends who have gone for the procedure, and from what they say, they sure don't regret the money spent. And most importantly, they said there was "no pain".

I'm only at my initial stage of considering the procedure. And of course, I realise that any procedure, no matter how simple, will have risks.

Have any of you had the procedure done before? What was your experience? Would you recommend it?

As for the rest of the four-eyed community, assuming that the surgery fee was not an issue at all, would you consider LASIK? Yes or No, and why, please. I would really love to hear your views.

Review: Natio Eye Contour Wrinkle Cream / Treatment Gel

I find reviewing eye creams quite hard. Unless they're awful or miracles in a tube, most of the time what I hope for is that they moisturise enough and do nothing unwanted. Well with these two, I'm willing to make one additional claim. I believe regular and daily use of the wrinkle cream at night and the treatment gel in the morning has slightly reduced eye bags and undereye circles.

I bought them during a great Sasa deal and after Eli's enthusiastic review of the treatment gel and have used them for over two months day and night. The treatment gel is wonderful to use in the morning as its light, refreshing and really wakens up the eye area. I find it also reduces eye bags which is awesome. It is quite light though, so you may want to layer the Wrinkle Cream over if your eyes are very dry. For the full review, check out Eli's post.

Wrinkle Cream
Does this help with wrinkles? I honestly don't know but I certainly hope it works as a preventative measure! Natio is an Australian brand that promises natural ingredients and this eye cream containes chamomile, cornflower, aloe, almond, apricot, jojoba and wheatgerm. Quite a list huh?

Although it claims to be from the Aromatherapy line, it doesn't smell scented - just very slightly sweet.

It's not heavy, but is a very light refreshing cream. I find it moisturising enough, but if you prefer very rich eye creams perhaps this isn't the best for you. Regular use has seen my dark undereye circles grow less prominent - despite less sleep! No promises though, they're not gone, I just think my eye area looks happier. =)

I also find my eye bags have been reduced. It also doesn't do anything bad, no milia, no bad reactions and no dry skin.

Conclusion
At RM44 per huge tube of 35ml (most eye creams are at most 15 ml), it's definitely worth it. One tube will last forever and I find it comparable to most expensive light eye creams.
