Vaseline Lip Therapy with Aloe Vera - GREAT for scrapes

We all know Vaseline is great for your lips and for dry spots. But did you know it was good for cuts too? I didn't until I read Dr. Benabio's article on treating cuts and scrapes.

Now, he may not be the friendliest blogger, (I emailed him with questions on Oxygen facials vs Antioxidants, and instead of answering me, he writes an article on it himself immediately with no reader credit), but he knows his stuff. So setting his blogger-etiquette aside, this is what he says:
The best treatment for a cut is to keep the wound clean and moist at all times. This can be done by washing gently once a day with soap and water or with a solution of 1/2 hydrogen peroxide, 1/2 water. Then apply a greasy ointment such as Vaseline or Aquaphor to seal moisture in and cover the wound with a band-aid.
So when my elbow got badly scraped on the road as a result of being pedestrian road kill (someone shoved me over at a crossing and ran off), I thought why not combine the healing powers of Aloe Vera and Vaseline. And the results?

Pretty amazing. First off, although this has no healing properties, Vaseline with Aloe Vera smells AMAZING. Fresh, green and soothing. Nice.

After slathering it on, I jumped into the shower expecting it to sting. But not a bit of it. The vaseline protected my poor raw elbow for most of the shower. And unless I scrubbed it directly (which I forgot and did), it never hurt.

Besides acting as a soothing ointment, I'm pretty sure that it also accelerated healing and skin regeneration. I scabbed over in 24 hours, redness was gone in 48 and now one week later, the scabs are flaking off to reveal perfectly healed skin. Woo hoo!

It is of course, amazing on lips (better than the original I think since it DOES smell so nice, did I mention how nice it smells? Well it does... =P), and the handly little tin only costs 96p. Perfect.

Now, WHEN will I be able to buy the Rosy Lips version? It's supposed to be in stores but I've been checking but nothing. *pouts*

Really? I love those tins! I think they're available in Europe and probably the US (they have everything)

I don't think it's available here in Malaysia too. Boo.

We only have Vaseline in those big plastic containers.

I'm just waiting for the Rosy Lips to come to Australia. Somehow the green tin didn't really appeal to me, but I'm sure a red one will ;)

I know you. You're a squirrel. *grins* You can pet the pretty tins, k? Or if you feel we must be more moderate I can leave off the original formula and just get the special ones. (But I know you. And you want the original formula in the cute tin too)
