Hey ladies! It's good to be back! =)
Okay, back to business. After whining on the lack of love for this hair mask, I chanced upon the Dove Hair Fall Therapy Treatment Mask.
I found it in a little Guardian near my place, and I believe this is a new range. I wasn't too keen to buy it initially. But that's because my eyes first fell on the HUGE 300ml tub, and I wasn't sure I needed another tub of hair mask that I would use once or twice and then let sit in my closet.
Until my roaming eyes saw the little (and oh-so-very cute) 50ml tub. It's like a mini-me version of the big mama tub. Now THIS totally makes sense.
(The white tub isn't the big mama tub, but it's the same size. So cute isn't it? Mini-me!)
It claims that it "intensively repairs and restores hair for average reduction of hairfall from 100 to 2". Of course, the caveat is that this is from 98% reduction of hairfall due to breakage based on lab tests versus a non-conditioning shampoo.
I don't know about the 100 to 2 claim, but I will give it this much - my hair did seem to fall less.
Just so you know, I have an oily scalp and I do have some hairfall problem (especially at one period right after I highlighted my hair, which REALLY freaked me out). However, that problem is very much reduced now, heartiest thanks to Biotin. =P
Product wise, it's very thick and a 20sen dollop will easily do the job for my hair (which currently reaches until the err... middle of my back). I applied it to my hair after shampooing, focusing on the lower half. Left it in for about 5 minutes (sorry, I have no patience for treatments which require 20-minute waits), and then thoroughly rinsed it out.
I applied a wee bit of John Frieda to the ends too, and the end result was oh-so-soft, smooth and shiny hair. Lovely.
The product itself smells great, with the typical Dove scent. If you hate it, then this might not be for you. But I like it, and the fiance couldn't stop sticking his face into my hair. It was not funny.
I've seen the mama tub around at most Guardian and Watson's, going for around RM27 (me thinks), but I've only seen the mini-me version at very few outlets. For only about RM3, I think it's a real steal.
And don't be surprised though, the mini-me version is packed to the brim with all the Dove goodness that it should be able to last at least 10 treatments. More than enough trials for you to decide if you want to invest in the big mama.
Also, I love the fact I easily pack it along when I'm a-travelling.
I'm very sorry but I really couldn't find anything online regarding the ingredients. If anyone can shed some light, please do so in the comments section.
Overall, I am loving it so far. But I am still unsure as to whether I'll be getting the full-sized version, even though it's really in the affordable range. There's just this itch to always try out something different.
Then again, I could always get this one, AND still try out the others (like this one). *grin*
What say you?

Never see this yet! Gosh we're so late! we're just starting to see some Pantene treatment which was already sold in other countries last year!!! Thanks for the review on this, that mini tub is super cute!
I MUST try this one out!! Ever since i come over here to India my hair has been dropping ALOT!! Yikes!! I hope i'm able to find the small tube to sample first!! :D
Nikki: Hope this one reaches you guys soon too! The mini-tub really is cute! =)
Jenn: You're in India?? Wow... =P On the hairfall, try getting your hands on Biotin. I would highly recommend it. And as for this hairmask, would love to see what you think of it. =)
Hmm I wonder if I can get this at my local Priceline (nearby drugstore). Sounds very promising indeed. Like I needed another excuse to go to Priceline. Tee hee :p
dang...i've never seen it at the local guardian/watsons (but then again, it's been a while since i've had the time to browse through their shelves!)
gotta try this...my hair's thinning like you wouldn't believe - i blame it on the stress! :(
Tine: Ahaha.. do check it out. And if you do find it, you can always leave a comment here on how much it costs in AU$.
*tee hee* Like you need another excuse to go to Priceline. LOL.
Beetrice: Oh well. Stress gets to us all. So why not indulge in some retail therapy, AND THEN hair therapy... Sounds good, eh?
Syen: Since you mentioned it to me I've been looking out for a cute minitub and no dice. Only big mummy tubs. Boo!
Kahani: I'll look out for you when I have time to drop by the Guardian near my place. If they still have the baby tubs I'll pick one up for you, ok? =)
Hey Syen, it's good to see you back ;)
Btw I know this is rather OT, but I hope you & your family are doing fine after the terrible landslide near your place? It was all over the papers! :O
I read the snippet which you wrote about having to evacuate the building you live in.... I really hope everyone is coping well in the aftermath. Thank god your apartment wasn't directly affected!
The forces of nature can really bring civilization to its knees sometimes *GRIM* My heart goes out to the victims & families affected by this tragedy :(
YZ: Awww... thanks sweetie. It's good to be back too.
My family and I are ok. And we're staying put for now. Thanks for your well-wishes. It's mighty sweet of you.
I just kinda forget that some people here know me for err.. me. =P
Heehee, I will always know you first & foremost as a news reporter ;)
And kahani as a femme fatale journalist! LOL :D
YZ: Hmmm.. have we met before? Many apologies, but YZ doesn't quite ring a bell. Do drop me an email. Would love to know who you are behind the initials. =P
I wanna be femme fatale journalist too! *pouts*
LOL
Omg I am SO now a femme fatale journo. you make me sound like brenda starr! >_<
So, yes YZ who are you, you mysterious woman.. =D
after reading this post
i went to both guardian and watsons
but couldn't find the baby tub
only the huge mummy one.
really wanted to try it out since its only RM 3
:(
LyNn: Hey! Hmmm.. which area do you live in? Maybe I might be able to recommend a place or two which MIGHT have. Or if you live near Ampang I can almost say for sure that the Guardian in Bkt Antarabangsa is always well-stocked with the baby tubs. =)
Thanks for commenting! See you around!
I got my hair rebonded last year.I was asked to use Loreal only. Now recently i have started with a heavy hair fall. Will this product of yours be useful to me??
iron: While I congratulate you on posting a relevant comment, I really don't appreciate you advertising a site via your nickname. If in future I find yourname continues to link to vitabits I will simply delete you.
This may help with moisture but I sincerely doubt it will stop dramatic hair fall. Go shop in the store you're selling for biotin and learn to love your hair au naturale.
can it be used on the scalp & how can it be use?
how often can it be used?
