Video: Because Fridays are for fantastic smokey eyes

Season in, season out and it looks like the Smokey Eye is here to stay! But it has evolved from the total black-out matte look to shimmering eye looks in a slew of other colours. Here are three great ones, (well maybe 6 thanks to Xsparkage) in shimmering brown & black, metallic brown, and purple!

HereLeesha shows you how to start with a natural smokey eye that you can get away with in broad daylight, and amp it up to smouldering and hot hot hot. Check out her site to get the lowdown on her products.

This rather long tute by kuuipo (I just stop after she's done the eyes as I don't like her intense eyebrows) has me lemming the unobtainable-in-Malaysia Urban Decay eyeshadow in Smog to an unholy degree. Plus her metallic brown smokey eyes look amazing!

And finally the (apparently) legendary purple smokey eye created for Kim Kardashan by her makeup artist. This three-part tute covers foundation, eyes and the rest. Here's just the eye's bit.

Nikki: yeah! Most video bloggers bug me, but she's adorable.

Jenn: It takes lotsa experimentation to figure out what your "fool-proof" method is. Like although I know I can do an amazing smokey eye with loose black mineral shadow, doing it in a rush = disaster! I find that my fail-safe now is Benefit's Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow/Liner in Towne car. As I can apply it exactly where I want and smudge it out as much as I like, layering as needed. And it stays all night once set with a silvery shadow. I haven't reviewed it because the colour is d/c. As soon as I find a good substitute I will blog. =D
