Random Video: Even more reasons to love Ikea...
Following my Ikea-heavy apartment decor post, this seems ever so slightly relevant. Plus it'll make you laugh.
Or not. I'll bet the Swedes in this vid are cursing their Japanese posting now!

Monday's Beauty Bits: Lisa Eldridge's must have products
I now want so many more things. Like the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer and Clinique Airbrush Concealer.
Yes, I have concealing issues.
What beauty-maven crush on Ms Eldridge? Me?
Well, maybe. =P

Video: How to lose a guy in 10 makeup mistakes
Since I screwed up the dates on the eyeliner brush post, here's a fun video that had me giggling like mad. Thanks Tine!

Monday's Beauty Blogger: Lisa Eldridge
I'm devastated... DEVASTATED I tell you, that it took me so long to discover the fabulous Lisa Eldridge and her gorgeous blogger videos. Sure they're informative and yes she's incredibly skilled and puts you onto the latest products, but above all they're addictive. Something about that English accent I think. Is it dodgy that I find her makeup removal video fascinating?
And you have to love a makeup artist that shows you how to cover up pimples on a model who really does have bad skin.

Video: Selling Skincare
If you have 10 minutes, do watch this really funny and true discussion about selling skincare. What agencies and companies do and how evil they can be.

Wet your sponge woman! And why I love Revlon Colorstay
I actually had another post scheduled for today. But a combination of insane work load and a niggling flu has left me bereft of the ability to review anything coherently. So I've bumped the review to next week and will instead share with you a revelation I've recently had.
WET YOUR SPONGE, WOMAN!
ParisB's new method of applying liquid foundie is probably awesome for all things but very thick makeup like Revlon Colorstay and cream, pancake makeup. For all those things, watch the following vid:
Convinced? Now move on for a confirmation of why I absolutely adore Revlon Colorstay for my acne-ridden skin. And now I've discovered the joys of the wet sponge, I love it EVEN MORE. L
I'll be honest with you girls. I do damned near everything she does. I don't bother with the tiny brush or additional concealer unless it's a very special occassion and I use ZA 2-Way Foundation instead of mineral foundation these days (for convenience sake). But otherwise, it's scarily similar. And it works! Thank god for this foundation, Revlon please don't improve it out of existence!

Video: Korean Ad for Nivea Lip Care
It's interesting how dependent Korean advertising is on getting a famous actor, singer or band to endorse their group. There are lots of cosmetics commercials I have seen with famous actresses or singers (Jun Ji Hyun of "My Sassy Girl" comes to mind) but this is the first time I have seen a commercial with a lengthy song and dance.
For Nivea, mind you. I am impressed at how they managed to feature the entire Nivea Lip range in it (Sorry, Kahani, but your fave grapefruit flavour didn't get any airtime).
Warning: the song is rather cheesy/ catchy and you might end up having it on loop in your head for hours afterwards.

Video: Dermatologist on Youtube
Now here's a handy thing, Dr Neal Schultz has set up DermTV where he dispenses bite-sized advice via Youtube on caring for your skin. Gotta love the quirky opening music and his fatherly approach to advice. Here are two handy vids to get you going, on making your hands look younger and dealing with dark undereye circles.

Video: Five mins and you're out the dooor!
Wake up late often? While I don't really wake up late I have a bad habit of lounging in bed denying that I have to get up. Which means by the time I've dragged myself out from under my comfy quilt - I'm late. I'll give this 5-minute look a whirl the next time this happens. Maybe it will let me lie in bed basking in denial a little longer.

Video: Gym / Sports Makeup!
Yes, yes I know ideally the skin should be left bare. But there are CUTE GUYS at the gym ladies! (uhh I think so, I don't actually go to the gym so my info is suspect) So we all wanna primp a little. I was researching sweat-friendly makeup for The Edge KL Rat Race on Tuesday. Now I couldn't wear a dress and no makeup could I? I'll be writing about what I used and how it worked out next week. =)
This slightly goofy video is by far my favourite. Although... I won't actually be doing much of anything she recommends. But then she clearly has perfect skin and oil control isn't a big issue for her. *sighs*

Video: Friday is for working those glasses!
I hate my spectacles so much I never wear them in public. But some ladies (who have less flat faces than I) can really work those frames. This video is a decent guideline on using makeup to work with and accentuate your eyes with glasses.
I do have some reservations about her total look though. While I agree with most of her tips, I really dislike the false lashes on the lower lashline and the poor blending of the blue eyeshadow/liner. While I think her point of emphasising the lower lashline is valid, I think the false lashes look rather sily and give her a droopy hush-puppy look. So take what's useful and toss the rest. =)
Tip: Short-handled brushes are best for near-sighted ladies. It lets you get nearer the mirror so you can see clearly.

Video: Friday is for a Twiggy Inspiration

Growing up ultra-skinny I was always drawn to stars who were rocking the scrawny, gamine look. Audrey Hepburn was one and Twiggy was another. Credited as the face of 1966 and the mod-era Twiggy, born Lesley Hornby was edgy her style typified by the bobbed haircut, simple lines with bold colour blocks and big smokey eyes with false eyelashes and pale lips. The big eyes I'm deficit in but that doesn't mean I can't be inspired by her nonetheless.

Video: Friday is for flying (or landing) pretty
Michelle Phan actually filmed this tutorial on an airplane! She took into account liquid restrictions and the danger of poking your eye out with an eyeliner pencil. I think she's slightly nuts to risk mascara though.
I'm a firm believer in taking all my makeup off and going through my usual night-routine (insofar as possible) on long-haul flights. I then have to re-do my makeup before landing so customs officials won't refuse me entry because I look like a rejected zombie from Night of the Living Dead. While I didn't learn anything from this tute, I appreciate the idea and practicality of it.

Video: Friday is for a MANHUNT (for gloss of course)
So you've heard of the Urban Decay Pocket Rocket Lipgloss, and now they're on the hunt for two more guys to pop on the tops of two new gloss shades.
Now the finalists have been chosen, but voting is still open! Choose your favourite gloss topper here. I'm leaning towards Shigaki myself. ; )
What about you ladies?

Video: Friday is for faking 8 hours of sleep
I love picking up "oh, I never thought of that!" tips from reading other blogs and watching beauty vids. My takeaways on this vid is to duck my head down when looking in the mirror to conceal undereye circles (how have I never known this before?) and that I should consider getting a pinker undereye concealer.

Video: Friday is for everyday glamour
Vintage queen, Super Kawaii Mama shows us how she creates her glamorous pin-up look, everyday. While the tutorial is very long, and could stand some editing, I do love her voice and her soft accent. I can't begin to say how much I wish all makeup gurus had such delightful voices to listen to. Far too many have shrill or piercing voices that make my poor ears ring and are tiring to listen to. Anyways, I love her eyeliner tip, and find her finished look really lovely. Gosh I'm on such a vintage kick, bear with me ladies!

Video: Friday is for shits and giggles - how NOT to do your makeup!
Many of you have probably seen this, but here's Connie of SkinDeco's hilarious video on how NOT to do your makeup! While Connie, however improbably, actually manages to look adorable after all she's done to herself. I really do urge Asian girls to not DO this look. Or at least, not all at once. Get a foundy that matches, if you want to use the lashes, tone down everything else. The pale frosty lipstick isn't for everyone, I for one, cannot pull it off!
