Biore Makeup Removing "Oil Cleansing" Wipes are Meh

I thought this trip to Japan would be a great time to road test these makeup removing wipes you can now find at Guardian and Watsons. And my take is they're just... meh. Oil Cleansing or not, they don't outperform other makeup wipes like Simple and each sheet is only half the size of Simple's. So they fall down there too.

Somehow I was expecting it to work like an oil cleanser + wipe and have the residue emulsify and rinse away all my makeup with water. But nope. I still had to go over again with eye makeup remover and Neutrogena's Deep Cleansing cream to get all my eye makeup and Revlon Colorstay foundation off.

I don't know if it causes breakouts when you don't rinse it off because I couldn't bring myself to risk it. My skin's finally cleared up a lot and I'm not risking it!

Overall, I think it's marginally more effective than a wipe like Simple but I don't really see any distinct advantages. Also the sheets are tiny and I had to use one just for my eye makeup... which still needed a separate remover. At RM6 for a tiny pack these are not worth the buy in my opinion.

surprisingly it works like a charm for me, in both removing eye make up and foundation. I find that Simple cleansing wipes are really simple, they can't remove makeup at all!

i find it works nicely for me to remove most of my foundation and stuff, for eye makeup I usually have to use a e&l remover since MJ mascara are bloody difficult to get rid of by common means :P

I heard that the one in bottle form works better.

I'm not very impressed with the wipes though :( guess i am more of a cleansing oil type girl.

hahaha! Ok maybe my waterproof and oil-resistant makeup was too much for these. Glad you girls liked it. =) Maybe I'll give it another chance. Could have been cranky after my long haul flight.

I bought a small pack months ago for travel use but no travelling yet so I just put it aside. I also expect it to be like a tissue that full of the goodness of cleansing oil. No ? That will be really bad as I'm using a lot waterproof products. If it doesn't cleanse like cleansing oil, I think is bad. Simple, Purederm, St Ives, just to name a few.. I've tried many brands but none of them impressed me (yet)...

Really? But I love the Cleansing Oil. Lightweight and smells like apple :)

I thought the wipes were fantastic and removed waterproof mascara that Simple can't. And you know how heavy my eye makeup can get! I think the key is to hold the wipe to your closed eye for a minute, wiggle it a bit and everything will start coming off as you wipe. One sheet, albeit small, is just enough to remove all of my makeup including foundation. I hope you'd give it another try!

Righto, I'll give these babies another try... as normal makeup wipes not super powerful oil cleanser types. =P
