The little things in life...

That make you happy.

(Meet Marco. A gentle giant of an Old English Sheepdog. No, he's not mine.)

I was over at Kahani's the other day, and all of a sudden she squealed, "OOOOH! There's something I've gotta show you! Come!"

She looked mighty excited, so of course I had to see.

And there it was, a brand new shower sitting in her bathroom. She even let me have a little "test-drive" just to show me how wonderful the water-pressure was. And wonderful, it most certainly was.

"I woke up one morning and there it was in my bathroom," she proclaimed, half cackling with glee.

Which then brought flashbacks of when my parents had installed a brand new (super powered) shower in my old bathroom, and spruced it up even further by adding a three-tiered glass shower rack. Taking a shower was never more fun.

I thought I had been the only one to get "turned on" by little things like a brand new shower, but looking at Kahani, I guess not. *grin*

Not so long ago, I remember being really happy about getting matching floor-rugs and hand towels. I got uhh... six sets. I think.

And oh, hardcover ringbinder notebooks with pretty covers make me really happy too.

Sometimes, all it takes are the little things in life to put a smile on your face, isn't it? And sometimes, it's the little things in life that we so often overlook and take for granted.

And if you're wondering what this photo's about...

Skipping stones by Scottish lochs. In our UK trip earlier this year, some of our fondest memories happened by the lochs (or lakes, in English). Every time we drove by a loch, the hubs and his friend would insist on stopping, scurry to the lake side, and a battle of skipping stones would ensue.

Followed by peals of laughter, and more promises of winning at the next game of skipping stones.

(The hubs, picking his weapon of choice.)

(Ready, aim... fire!)

(Have you ever seen happier boys?)

So. What little thing have you been happy about lately?

An inspiring read to start the day :) Yes, sometimes the littlest things like seeing a cute cat can get me all hyped up. Or a grilled cheese sandwich... My most recent happiness came in a form of an early Christmas gift :)

Marco! I remember him from your pics. He's so adorable. I used to think that there was something so Zen about big dogs (they always seem to sit in solid calmness) until a trio of rambunctious St. Bernard puppies gamboled along and decided to make me their new toy.

I was covered with dirt, leaves and puppy drool in seconds. The puppies thought it was funny though.

What never fails to make my day is seeing Mt. Kinabalu on my way to and fro from work. It's never the same and I never get tired of looking at it whenever I stop at the traffic light.

Oh so many things. An awesome shower is definitely one of them. Pretty stationery (I go to Kikki K EVERYTIME I'm in Chadstone even though I end up buying nothing). Products to keep organised. A clean and tidy room, especially my nook (dresser). Fresh and hot egg tarts wheeled out of the kitchen during yumcha. Oh just the little things :)

Thanks for your comments ladies!

Eli: Wow.. now that's quite a way to start your day. Mt Kinabalu eh? =)

Tine: Oh yes. I have the same problem when I walk into a makeup store and when I walk into a stationery shop. I almost always walk out with something. =P
