This may sound crazy but for the past year and a half I've been struggling to find the right shampoo and conditioner for my hair in Hong Kong.
See in Malaysia, my dad installed this massive filter that purifies all the water before it even enters the house. Every time I return there, no matter what shampoo and conditioner I use, my hair is happy shiny floaty and bouncy.
In Hong Kong where the water is slightly harder than in Malaysia, no such luck.
I tried my old standbys at first, Dove for regular hair - too dry.
Dove for dry hair - too heavy
Dove Nourishing Oil Care - too weird (a bit sticky, hair oils up fast, yet a bit dry)
L'Oreal shampoos - too dry and made me shed like the beagles.
This is the problem when you have an oily scalp and dry ends on fine hair. Argh!
I was about to just give up when Dove launched THIS range in Hong Kong. Remembering the luck I had with the old brown bottled ones, I gave this a whirl and I felt my hair just go, "Aahh!"
Back to its shiny, silky, floaty self.
It even calmed my scalp down so I can skip a day between hair washes.
To keep it working well, I use a clarifying shampoo once a week and a hair mask.
Oh and about the anti-hair fall promise? I never put too much stock in it, no shampoo or condi can reduce natural hair fall but it can stop aggravating it. Still I was agreeably surprised to note less hair on the floor after brushing - maybe it's helping!
Conclusion
At this point I honestly CAN'T remember how much they cost. But I believe the 175ml bottles are around HKD30 each - they won't break the bank anyway.

Ahhhhh... how I've missed your hair posts that induce shampoo lemmings in me! :P
Hahahha! It's because my hair has been sad that there has been no news till now!
i am still staying away from Dove shampoo, but I find that I do quite like the hair serum from the Nourishing Oil series.
i think that's the most I can go for Dove!
Ooh.. I thought you had a system worked out? Where it's Dove daily thingamajic for summer and the Dove Nourishing Oil Care for winter?
Glad you find this works for you though. =)
@Syen I thought I had but it didn't quite work out long-term. =( Or rather I'd have to adjust shampoos everytime I washed my hair!
now you make me want to try this! i love trying out different shampoos.
Hmmm. This sounds like a good product to try out since I am looking for a shampoo and conditioner that can treat my damage hair. i will try this out and hope that it helps.
dom: Good thing it's a cheapie then! =D
Emy: I hope it helps, but it's really not that heavy or moisturising a shampoo. It's "just enough" for me. Sometimes though, if your ends are just too fried the only thing to do is cut them off.
