*sighs* Another Deo Disappointment: The Bodyshop, DeoDryStick in Cool & Zesty

The thing with me and deodorants is I love multitasking products. So a deo that actually has a scent I wouldn't mind as my daily perfume really captures my attention. And this fresh citrusy deo really does smell lovely and I fully expected to love it. After all, it's a stick deo (check!), smells of citrus (check!) and is paraben and aluminium salts free eliminating that niggling worry about skincancer. So what's wrong?

Well for starters, it never feels dry, comfy and powdery. It's ALWAYS sticky.

It doesn't help with perspiration.

But the absolute deal breaker is that it causes breakouts. Yep, itchy breakouts in my underarm area. Not glamorous AT ALL.

At RM24.90 I expected better, much much better. So yes am terribly disappointed. Anyone tried the roll-on version? Is it any good?

Thank you for sharing your honest review on this. I was always near buying it. Thanks again. ^_^

Oh, I'm so glad someone else also feels the same way about these things! I had such great expectations for this product but it was such a complete let down.
And, apart from all the cons you've listed, this deo stick also felt gritty (eww!!!) probably because of the mineral salts and such, and was a total disappointment. Oh well, on with my aluminium chlorohydrate saturated lady speed stick as usual...

saw it in TBS yesterday, for that price i would expect it to work magic!

I thought I was the only one who didn't like it. Yes, it is sticky and wouldn't dry that I had to put a powder deo on top of it so my underarms wouldn't feel so sticky. Sadly, it didn't keep me dry. Also I feel my UA itch whenever I use this.

It's so hard to find a deodorant that works; itchy pits, I know them well. The two brands I like both contain aluminium salts, but they do work for me: Kiehl's Superbly Efficient Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant (so good, not exactly cheap) and Fa Rice Dry roll-on (cheap and does the job).

lets hope this comment makes it through.

I think TBS should be ashamed of themselves. I mean is it so hard to swatch the damn thing and go "Ah, it does not dry down but stays STICKY!". Gaaah!

CucumPear: I keep coming back time and time again to Rexona Skin Light. No breakouts, no weird pigmentation (Dove gave me weird pigmentation!) and no itch. In fact it soothes. =D

I guess I'm the only one who likes the product, lol!The roll-on, that is. I bought their Chilled&Breezy Stick and Cool&Zesty Roll-On a couple weeks ago. The stick is sticky, that's why I don't use it...Freshly shaved armpits+sticky= breakouts. That'll happen with almost any other deodorant. The roll-on, however, is watery and dries quickly. You better hold your arms up(like when putting on face cream or hair products) to let it dry for a minute, but then it's like you've got nothing there - just the smell.
The thing that everyone seems to forget is that it's a deodorant. It's not supposed to stop you from sweating, just mask the odor. If you don't want rivers of sweat under your armpits in hot weather, stick with antiperspirant. They don't make them without aluminium, though...Sweating annoys me too, but I'd rather worry about my health. As far as DEODORANTS go, this is really good.
Just my two cents =)

Hi barbara, thanks so much. I'm not sure I have the guts to try the roll on now. But if it's NOT an antiperspirant... why call it "DeoDry"? Doesn't seem like intelligent marketing to me.

I have the roll-on one and it's definitely not an antiperspirant! Clammy underarms at the end of the day.... :x
No breakouts so far!
