US Haul Part III: Drugstores + Factory Outlet cosmetics

Hello lovelies!

It is truly good to be back. Deepest apologies, things have been kinda rough over the last few weeks (personal issues and all) here, but they're starting to look better now over at our So Loverly HQ in Kuala Lumpur.

For all you dearies who have been so kind and patient with us, we thank you for your support from the bottom of our hearts. You're what keeps this blog going.

Anyhoo. Continuing where I left off, the hauls! So you've seen what I've hauled from Sephora and Macy's, now it's time to show you what I hauled back from the drugstores.

From Walgreen's, Bartell, CVS, Ulta, Target, Duane Reade to Safeway... I think I've covered almost all the drugstores in New York and along the west coast. Almost. I think I missed out on Rite Aid.

As the hubs says: "I don't think I've met ANYONE ELSE who gets this excited over a drugstore." Hopeless, I know.

So, here goes!

HG Stuff: Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief

In coffeespeak (R-L): Short, Grande, Venti
I suspect that I am turning into a Clinique convert. I still maintain that their paint-stripping toners and the Dramatically Different Moisturising lotions are the stuff of nightmares; but their Turnaround Concentrate and Moisture Surge moisturiser stand at the top of My Favorite Skincare Products List 2011.

Kahani has reviewed Moisture Surge before but the stuff is so good for my oily-dry skin, I think it deserves a second review of its own.

I wasn't madly in love with Moisture Surge when I first got it. It was nice to use, sunk in quickly and did everything a moisturiser was supposed to do. The only difference between this and Garnier's Aqua Defense Essence Moisturiser was that Moisture Surge didn't break me out. Then, I happened to meet a Clinique SA from a different counter.

"Oily-dry skin?" she asked. "Try using double the amount you usually use. In fact, massage it in until your skin can't absorb anymore."

I blinked. Ookay.

Announcement: Change of Schedule

You probably have noticed that So Loverly’s posts have slowed down lately. As much as we love the glamorous beauty blogger lifestyle, real life has caught up and dumped a whole load of crap on us. Work, travel, family, love, stress, death – you name it, one of us has it. Personally, I haven’t worn makeup for two weeks; the only things on my face right now are my glasses.

Revlon Colourburst Lipstick in Raspberry

Raspberry is easily the most popular shade in the Colourstay lipstick range here in Sabah. I fell in love with it when it was first released months ago but it was completely sold out at the Watsons’ outlet I was at. And the next outlet. And the next. Aaaand the next. It took me 2 weeks to finally track down a tube at the tiny Watsons’ outlet near my place. The sales boy remembered seeing a tube in the storeroom and came out with the very last tube of Raspberry in stock. Lesson of the day, girls: Always make friends with your local sales staff.

Review: Clinique All About Eyes Eye Cream

Hong Kong's dryer climate and probably my advancing years have convinced me that I need a better eye cream than the super light Natio cream I was using.

Thing is I am really nervous about new eye creams. They're often pricey and do nothing, or too heavy and cause breakouts and give me milia. So when I spotted this gel-creme trial size (7ml) for HKD65, I thought, what the hey and gave it a try.

Two weeks later and I've already ordered two more of these mini jars off Strawberrynet at HKD90 for both. What's so good about it?

Well, first off it probably doesn't do much for dark undereye circles but boy does it work for puffiness. I'd noticed my eye bags were starting to show (not usually a problem for me) but the morning after I patted this on at night, I woke up brighter, fresher eye-bag less eyes - probably thanks to the caffeine in it.

Part 1: In the Land of the Free

Hello lovelies,

Apologies that I haven't posted all of last week. Something urgent cropped up which needed immediate attending to. Anyhoo, to make up for it, I'll be sharing quite a few shots I took whilst I was on vacay in the United States.

Starting with New York!

(Note: Really photo-heavy post!) Enjoy!
